Outdoor brand Eider, run by K2 Korea, said 4th Feb that it has acquired the global trademark rights of Eider owned by Europe fashion company Calida Group.
Eider held an agreement ceremony to acquire the global trademark of Eider at the headquarters of K2 Korea Group in Jagok-dong, Seoul on 3th Feb. The meeting was attended by K2 Korea Group CEO Young-hun Jung, Reiner Pichler - CEO of Calida Group and Sasha Gerber - Chief Financial Officer of Calida Group.
The outdoor brand Eider, which started in France in 1962, entered the South Korean market in 2006 by signing a license deal with the K2 Korea Group. Since then, K2 Korea Group acquired the trademark right of Korea in 2009. Through the acquisition of global trademark right, the company will develop its Eider brand business in Asia, the U.S., and Europe. The company plans to become a fashion company that represents not only Korea but also the global market.
"I think the result of developing Eider as a leading outdoor brand in Korea for 10 years seems to have helped us win the global trademark right of Eider," said a representative for Eider. "We look forward to taking the global market one step further beyond the limits of the domestic market."
